This is the fifth in a series marking the 50th year of SHP that we’re calling 50 Years 50 Stories of SHP. Everyone who has been involved with Summer Honors has contributed to its overall story, and here we plan to tell many interesting sub-stories about challenges SHP has faced, traditions SHP has inspired, and lives SHP has influenced. Please let us know if you have something to contribute to this series — for example, story ideas; written, video, or audio content; or volunteer time.
In this inaugural episode of the SHPAA Maudecast, Tyrell Howsden (SHP 2010-2014, SHPAA president) and Elijah Sinachack (SHP 2026) discuss the rewards and perils of being entrusted with the most sacred tradition of Summer Honors. Tyrell, now a lawyer, was Maude’s keeper from 2011 to 2014, and Eli, who attends Axtell High, received Maude on her birthday this year. Thanks to Joseph Fickenscher (SHP 2020-2023) for setting up and hosting the podcast.
